Following the Eastmans’ graduation from the Philadelphia College of Art, Ray Metzker recommended that Alan attend the Institute of Design at Illinois Institute in Chicago, where Garry Winogrand and Aaron Siskind were inspirational in the development of their collective work.

Alan became a graphic designer for WCBS TV News and then an art director for WCBS, ABC and WCVB. He is the recipient of three Emmys for news graphics and his work has been spotlighted in numerous publications.

Linda remained busy with a growing family, but when the family was grown, she joined Alan in a return to their roots as artists and photographers. They moved to Maine and began applying their photographic and drawing skills to producing art again.
